AL GORE, HERO
A hero cannot be a hero unless in a heroic world.--Nathaniel Hawthorne
Al Gore is a true hero for us. We have watched him wage a war against
Global warming, and we have watched him win a Nobel Peace Prize for
doing so.. We have watched him, honor itself, write one of the most
beautiful speeches in the face of dissapointment, and then move on to
change the face of the planet by building a beautiful movement...and I
think we should stand up and take notice. One of the wonderful things
about heroes is that they embody, for us, the beautiful moral passion
that stands up for the best in all of us. They are the Supermans, the
John Galts, the Henry Reardens of our time. Not just literary figures,
they are the brave souls that change the paths of this Earth with a
vision for humanity, with a true love in their heart, with a purpose to
help, heal, and contribute to our world. Al Gore is one of those people.
The need to heal this Earth of the effects of our neglect is, as Al Gore
has made quite clear, paramount. Our Earth sustains us, and the need
for us to sustain her in return, for us to recognize the importance of
keeping her healthy, is all important. We need to join Al Gore, a true
hero, and become heroes in a heroic world. Heroes that have the pride
and legacy of making this earth a healthy, beautiful place. Heroes that
have the legacy of fighting the battle of the century and winning. Heroes
that can look back and say "We are the generation that healed a
