EcologyFund is owned and operated by The Hunger Site Network as a way to
get new funds for critical habitat and wilderness preservation using the power
of the internet. When you "click to give" our sponsors pay the project you
selected to preserve the number of square feet shown by each project. You pay
nothing. To maximize the contribution, click on each project every day. If you
register, The Hunger Site Network will donate 500 square feet of wilderness in
your name, and will keep a running tally for you of all the land you have
preserved. Other sites owned and operated by The Hunger Site Network are
The Hunger Site, The Breast Cancer Site, The Rainforest Site, The Animal
Rescue Site, and GreaterGood.com. All monies from sponsorships generated
on EcologyFund go to purchase and protect wild lands. Sponsors are interested
in supporting wilderness preservation for the same reasons we are: 1) its good
for the environment, 2) our advertising budgets can do double duty and
accomplish something important, and 3) the best form of public relations is
good work. If you click and visit a sponsor's site it will usually double their
contribution. Clicks to site advertisers in our Special Donations section will save
additional land or plant trees. Certain actions (ordering free catalogs or registering
for free) will save even more land or plant additional trees through our Rainforest
Rewards section. Shopping through Shop For Acres will save an average of 50
square feet per dollar spent. The average amount of land protected through each
action of the site is always specified. A breakdown of the amount contributed is
listed in our totals section.

AL GORE, HERO

Al Gore is a true hero for us. We have watched him wage a war against
Global warming, and we have watched him win a Nobel Peace Prize for
doing so.. We have watched him, honor itself, write one of the most
beautiful speeches in the face of dissapointment, and then move on to
change the face of the planet by building a beautiful movement...and I
think we should stand up and take notice. One of the wonderful things
about heroes is that they embody, for us, the beautiful moral passion
that stands up for the best in all of us. They are the Supermans, the
John Galts, the Henry Reardens of our time. Not just literary figures,
they are the brave souls that change the paths of this Earth with a
vision for humanity, with a true love in their heart, with a purpose to
help, heal, and contribute to our world. Al Gore is one of those people.
The need to heal this Earth of the effects of our neglect is, as Al Gore
has made quite clear, paramount. Our Earth sustains us, and the need
for us to sustain her in return, for us to recognize the importance of
keeping her healthy, is all important. We need to join Al Gore, a true
hero, and become heroes in a heroic world. Heroes that have the pride
and legacy of making this earth a healthy, beautiful place. Heroes that
have the legacy of fighting the battle of the century and winning. Heroes
that can look back and say "We are the generation that healed a

THE EARTH IS OUR BEAUTY

Mother Earth is hurting, truly hurting. So many of us walk through our lives
every day without realizing how vital it is to recognize the beauty and true
importance of our home, Earth itself. There is a fight going on right now, and
it is that of true awareness, true care for our environment. Al Gore, our
honorable representative, has launched a campaign to stop global warming.
Environmentalists lobby every day to stop the unnatural razing of our natural
environment. And we, we have a responsibility in our little communities to keep
our environment clean, to plant new trees, to recognize that we have a place in
contributing to healing this Earth. And it is true. You have the power to heal this
Earth by picking up trash. You have the power to plant a tree every year. You
have the power to donate to an environmental cause. You have the power to start
a small group to assist in making your town or community a more beautiful place.
Think of it this way...if you like to travel to beautiful places, realize that it is a
change of environment that's drawing you there...that you want to be healed by
Mother Earth's natural beauty. But please realize that the natural beauty around
your home is vital to you and everyone else around you, and has the potential for
the same beauty that you find when traveling to a beautifully cared for place. Please
take the time to cherish the environment close to you, even in small ways. Plant a
tree in your garden and water it every day. Pick up trash when you see it and throw
it away. Donate to your local environmental causes. Or visit my website and donate
to a larger environmental cause, because, believe me, community by community,
beauty is born. And one last thing...if you truly care about yourself, you must care,
without fail, about Mother Earth. It sustains us, it keeps us healthy, it is the true
beauty upon which our loving lives are built. Eating. We must eat to live. Think
about this, please. You are given the gift of food without being asked anything in
return, and now Mother Earth is asking something back of you. And she is telling
you this...I am loving and love you, I feed you and nurture you, I hold you in beauty
every day. Please love me enough to care for me. Care for her, and care for her deeply.
She is the one true love of humanity, and needs to be cared for. Not later. Now. The
Earth is your beauty. You wouldn't neglect yourself. Don't neglect her--protect her.
We are love fighting for her. We are love loving her. We are love healing her. And love
is what it will take to hold her in our arms, her beauty close, growing within us and around
us every day.
